A Good Cup of Brew in One Hand and A Good Book in the Other
Lots of Options
I am a Blogger and a Social Media Page Manager at the same time. A lot of things come to my mind at any given day. But weekends are the most special, since I am busy with my day job on the weekdays. I can get lazy at home, and it would only mean food deliveries for me. So, for more inspiration, I go out and stay at a cafe.
You’ve heard of The Good Cup Coffee Company, come on!
I wrote about them on my first feed which makes them the very first place where I’ve started my blogging journey. So, that makes them special for me. I revisited them and just found out that they actually offer 2 types of beans for their espresso base: Wilmer Cuellar #13 Espresso or Jose Maria Lopes. I’ve opted for the latter, since I’ve had the former the last time. Both equally good cups!

Jose is a farmer-doctor at La Leona Farm, in Honduras, which he has started in 2001. The profile of his beans would be of Orange, Apple, Honey, and Chocolate. What a sweet surprise!

Since I am avoiding pork, I couldn’t have any of their rice meals. Which is a good thing because I was then able to give their Seafood Zucchini Pasta a go. It was good! I just wished there was more of it in the bowl. And I made the assumption that the pasta was made of zucchini. So, never make assumptions on anything in life, always ask!

I still have a 20/20 Vision at my age (the last time that I have it checked), but I’ve decided to wear protective glasses since I can stay on my laptop for hours. Most especially that all of the work that I do are accomplished on the computer. And I just want to wear glasses so that I could look smarter than I really am. Haha!

Since, I’ve forgotten to take photos of the Ground Floor facade of The Good Cup Coffee Company the last time, I made sure that I did so this time. Again, I will always appreciate the most basic of colors. I adore their color palette.

Alternative Choices
I had to look for another cafe to hang out and work in, since as far as I have experienced the last time, they close at 7:00 PM. And that is just too early for someone like me. One of the closest cafes around the area is Books & Brews Cafe in Mango Square. The color palette? It’s almost just black and white! Less is more, you know? And I just love it. Not my first time here though. I’m just not a fan of Mango Avenue so I don’t really get to chill here much.
Books & Brews Cafe

True to form, the place is full of books that you can borrow and read inside the cafe. They are neatly arranged and the place would remind you of a library in school, only that it has merged with your school canteen this time. Coffee and books! They are the best combo, if you’d ask me. But don’t let the title of this feed fool you. I do read books, but I will never call myself a book person. My normal attention span is only 5 minutes, so if I’ll read a book from cover to cover, it must be that interesting for me. The books that I couldn’t let go of before are the Harry Potter and Crazy Rich Asians series. They are just THAT entertaining! They are definite page turners for me.

Discoveries
Why am writing about brews and books now? It’s because I appreciate learning lately. My brain is lazy ever since I was young. I would always go for what’s entertaining and at times would prefer anything that’s a no-brainer. I prefer to just be relaxed and chill. But recently, I’ve enjoyed learning more about anything that I can create. Just like brewed coffee, learning takes time. Yet, very enjoyable and satisfying afterwards. And books? They are just metaphors for anything that I read nowadays. Most of the things that I read are just online. Which means that there is a vast source of information out there. I love discovering something new every day and trying out different things as well.
It is in learning that we are able to create. It is in trying that we discover magical things. No, I’m not talking about Harry Potter magic, but something similar that can spark you up inside and leave you in awe. The most exciting part is actually having the ability and capability of doing and making something that you thought was impossible for you. We sometimes learn a new skill set, or learn that we have a skill set that we have just not explored in the past. The possibilities are endless for me now. And deep down, I believe there is nothing that I can’t do. Or nothing that I can’t try to do.
What would you like to try to do today? Would you rather have a good cup of brew or a good book in your hands right now? Why not have both and eat your cake while at it?

Honduras coffee! although I havent tried this one yet coz I always stick with either cappuccino or latte, Ive heard before that honduras coffee really good because they were planted on higher altitudes. This result in slow growth so they absorb more nutrients which makes them more flavorful. I should try this one!
You’ve got that right! The altitude makes all the difference.

I would love to visit the Books & Brews Cafe – the very idea of browsing a book with an amazing cup of coffee is too tempting.
Reading a book while sipping a hot cup of coffee is relaxing, it’s good that there are coffee shops like this that provide books while offering coffee selection.
Books and Brews looks like such a nice place to have coffee! I am sure I’d be spending a lot of time there if I’m near it.
